Our goal in posting the following examples of the miscelleanous WRONG maps showing Ryer Island is to emphasize the extent of use of the incorrect Delta island labeling and use in a variety of settings in the modern day Delta planning forum. If government agencies like BDCP, DWR, Delta Vistion, NOAA and CalTrans can't figure out where the islands and waterways are, how do they expect to come up with correct reports about the same?
As of May 2011, there are still ongoing problems caused by incorrect use of island names, which negatively affect the residents, businesses and visitors to Ryer Island and many other areas of the Delta as well. Our research has also shown that CALFED-DRMS in particular was wrong regarding many islands of the Delta. See comparison report.
